wife & I have a 01 Z06, the blower motor was acting up then quit. found the blower module blown (auto ac) (the blower motor was replaced a while ago) before I put it all back together I hooked everything to test, blower ran about 2 sec. and I heard a pop, everything went dead. the maxie fuse was blown which got me to thinking is the motor is drawing too much amperage ?? ( 7 amps) does anyone know what would be normal draw ??? Thanks

By "blower module", do you mean "blower motor control processor"? If so, how did you determine that it was "blown"? Where did you get the new control processor from ?
ground in but not out on module, took cover off melted parts, Amazon (where else ) blower motor doesn't (by hand) spin or free wheel very much seems tight ??

You roll the dice with parts off Amazon, and many forum members have chased their own tails that way.. If your blower motor does not spin freely, then that's probably your problem.
Blower motors are hard to find, at least for my 99. Most listed at parts stores and RockAuto do not fit right. I finally found one from a low mile vette that was scrapped. You have to put the new blower motor side by side with the original to see the differences.
So to be safe I ordered a new blower motor along with the Dorman module, the first notice I see is with the Dorman module was the motor could still work but draw too much power. Old motor drew over 7 amps, new motor less than 5 ?? think I found all the issues !!

Update, after getting the HVAC working perfectly, decided to take a dead control unit and send it to Travis at Vettetronics for LCD repair and new red bulbs, great results !!
