If so what are you running in the front. I bought these tires for the rear and can not find a front tire w/ equal or smaller sidewall. I don't want the car to ride funny. Thanks, Kaley
What we need to match: Tires with 24.8 dia and 85.5mm sidewalls.
Option 1: 265/35/18... you would have 25.3 in dia, or 1/4" taller ride height and a 7mm taller sidewall. Not bad, but you'd have to find 18" rims to match the back set.
Option 2: You COULD fit a 245/35/17 on your rims (it is a sanctioned fit). That would give you the SAME size sidewalls and 1 inch smaller overall dia, or .5" lower ride height.
Option 3: If you find those 18" rims, go with 285/30/18 on the front too :)
I have ran BFG 285/30 18's on a 10.5" width wheel in the front. I am currently running 285/35 18's on the front because I did not want to affect active handling. The shorter sidewall (30 series) is more stable on the track though but more harsh on the street.
so my best bet would be to run 18's in the front? Does anyone know if they make a 19" sizes in this tire? I noticed a 19"Z06 in rims. I think that would look pretty nice. Plus it wouldn't lower the car so much. Thanks, kaley
Don't know if 10.5" on the front would be good for daily driver. I have 17x9.5 w/275/40/17 and they stick out about .5" past the fender. 10.5" might push it a bit. That is to say if you mind the look. If you're okay with an extra inch sticking out, do it :)
It depends what you mean by ride funny. Tire for tire, shorter sidewalls (smaller numerically, like the 30 series you are using) usually translate to a harsher ride. Some people might call that funny for the street.
The stock front tire diameter (non Z06) is 25.6, or one inch smaller than the stock rears. If you still want the rears to be taller than the fronts, you may have a tough time doing that with your new rears.
If it matters to you, watch your speedometer. You have gone from a stock rear diameter of 26.6 (non Z06) to a new diameter of 24.8. :yesnod:
kaley,i see that you have lowered your c5 , I would look in to 275/35/18 for the front this way you will keep the dia. of the tires almost the same between the front and the back , and don't worry about the car riding funny you can go as big as 275/35/18 for the front and a big 335/30/18 for the rear with no problems even as low your C5 is . this is what I have. mike
