I need Wheel/Tire help (Drag Radial)
1. Get the chrome repo Y2K rears (18x10.5 I think) and mount some Nitto's
on them (295 or 315?).
2. Buy someone's used OEM Y2K rims (18x9.5) and mount some 275 Nitto's
on them.
3. Buy someone's used OEM Y2K rims (front's 17x8.5) and mount some
275 BFG Drag radials or Nitto's on.
Any other suggestions for a street race/some track time rear set up. Most of the time I will just be riding on my runflats unless I have a race set up.
I currently have 336 RWHP, and 4.10 gears out back. No traction what so ever, even spins shifting into 3rd. Hoping for some guidance...

I use ZR1 wheels that I bought from AFS for $262.50 each plus shipping. That was almost two years ago, though. They are 17" wheels that are 11" wide. They have the Grand Sport offset so they don't stick out as far as the ZR1 offset. I use 315 BFG's and really like them. I used the Nitto's before and they are pretty good, too. The BFG's are better tires at the track, but can be very squirelly on the street. The Nitto's are not quite as good at the track but are good street tires.
I am skeptical about the 18" drag radials. The two problems I see are that the sidewall will be shorter allowing less squat on launch than the 17" and the overall height of the tire will be greater which will effectively change your rear gear ratio for the worse. I have not seen or heard any real life track results on these 18" tires yet.
Have fun! :D
