My car is at the dealer for the sticking clutch, they say they don't have or haven't heard about any tech bulletin or anything on it. Anyone know the number to call and get it or have a copy of it anywhere.
Tell your service tech to look in the Service VME for PI00206 "Clutch Pedal Does Not Return When Depressed"or Document ID # 710639 "Clutch Pedal Sticks or Binds". When the clutch pedal sticks or binds during clutch pedal travel there might be a faulty bushing or a worn or damaged release bearing, or Document ID # 710628 "Pedal Stays on Floor (Clutch Disengaged)". Inspect the clutch pedal for a loose or worn clutch pedal spring. If the clutch pedal stays to the floor you should check the master cylinder for improper fluid level or faulty parts. Also inspect the hydraulic hoses or pipes for damage or even leaks. Inspect the clutch diaphragm springs to see if they are broken.
My friend just picked up his 02 z06 yesterday. The dealer changed flywheel all clutch components plus slave cycl and completed the work at no cost under warrantee using the info in the aforementioned post. They mentioned about the flywheel being torqued improperly when built leading to clutch component failure and warped flywheel. This may be buls*** for a reason but at least they changed all the components at no cost. One thing that did happen is that they took tens days to do the work and gave him a rental, when he went to pick up the Z they said he only had 3 days of rental from GM
and charged him for the other 7 days even though his vette sat in there shop for 8 days before they worked on ir. He paid it but has a case open now with GM on that B.S. good luck
I am at 34,k so them giving me a whole new clutch is way out of the picture. I thought alot of the time it was the slave cylinder causing this problem.
I will give them the #'s from above and hope I get the car back soon.
Try, your car is warranted for 36 months 36000 miles and this is a known defect covered by a tsb, I would expect a clutch to last over 36K under normal use. If they say no way try another dealer or call GM,s no# listed in the back of your owners manual. At least get it documented before the warrantee runs out as a sticking clutch under these cicumstances is not normal wear and tear, its defective due to workmanship or quality and GM knows that or they wouldn't have issued the TSB. Don't give up on this one.
by the way the Z I referred to had almost 20K on it and they replaced it.
Picked the car up Thursday night. Emergency brake finally works for the first time since I bought the car (new)
They said they couldn't duplicate the clutch problem so they weren't going to change anything. I told them I am not making it up.
I called my friend who just had jis replaced at Jeff Gordon Chevy in Wilmington NC. He set me up with the guys that he talked to and it is going to go up there on Thursday.
It only sticks when I bang the gears good. It is going to get worse and worse and then I will be outta warranty.

Just make sure that your complaint shows up on your paperwork.
The way I see it the clutch sticking on the floor is not a warranty or wear issue, its defective parts or installation or both. Too many C5's have the problem. I will be taking the Service Adviser for a ride Monday morning. :reddevil
Well the car was at the dealsership all day. Got a call at 5:30 from the service writer. He starts in with well the clutch is designed to blah blah. I interrupted his rehearsed to speech to say stick on the floor so you can't shift?
Well bottom line day one nothing done, probably not even driven. He asked me about any TSB's etc.. I have spent the last two hours filling up his e-mail :smash:
We will see what day #2 brings.
