99’ Vert BCM malfunctioning
when I ran codes every modules had errors and they all pointed to bcm.
I tried resetting the back by cycling the ignition and a pulled a few fuses, unplugged the battery and still nothing. I’m assuming the bcm somehow got water damage or maybe a ground or something but it works fine until it doesn’t. I cleaned the keys and ignition by spraying electronic cleaner and let it dry and still nothing.
not sure if it matter but I have aftermarket seats and c6 z06 shocks to replace the electronic ones and both of those things have been thoroughly tricked by fake sensors so I don’t think it’s that.
My bcm is part # 09367609 but I can’t find and replacements under $1000 for this specific one. In all honestly I’m getting ready to sell my vette because I need a truck for my profession so I can’t really spare the money ti go down some huge rabbit hole trying to fix it. If anyone knows a different part number that is still compatible or has one for sale that’s cheap please let me know.
Any advice welcomed!
1. Battery fully charged? I had some errors pop up at 11.8V that went away at 12.5V.
2. Can you get to your BCM and take a look inside? Its a clamshell package that pops open. You will probably see if it took water damage or not.
3. Star connectors - two star connectors near the BCM (long slim white connector). You can pop the shorting bar off both and jump just the BCM to PCM and see if the car starts and stays running. If it does, its supposedly not the BCM or PCM.
