I ditched the emts and bought bfg -g-force's. Much better ride and road feel. After all the z06 guys don't have the emt "parachute" and you don't hear any of them saying there are switchin to run-flats cause of emercency tire issues.
BUT! there has been ,from what i have read , a lot of great strides in the (better than goodyear)run-flat products out there .I hear yokahama, michelin, and other companies have much better products than the GY,s.sooo do your research and i am sure you will find what you need. Good luck! :chevy :chevy :chevy :lolg:
I drive a dump truck for a living, and driving a vette with run-flats is about the same! I would get rid of them, the Pilot Sports are quiter, ride better, and have better traction :yesnod:
Personally I would stay with runflats and just ditch the Goodyear EMT Runcraps that were issued to us. I would hate myself to be stranded in the middle of nowhere with a flat and no spare, AND I would ahte myself even more if ever I have a tire blown in a speed that I usually drive the Vette (technically i would be dead). There are newer and better technology out there since the 1997 introduction of the C5. We are not obligated to run antiquated technology tires (though they might had updated them since, but they're still bad) and the assurance that we have a safer tire is priceless.
BTW, I had been told by some forum members how runflats had actually saved their lives. There are stories out there that we have not heard of about runflats actually workinging for the C5 other than dead-weight and high cabin noise.
I switched to Nitto 555 Extreme's and the ride quality and grip have improved tremendously. Much better traction off the line. I carry a C4 jack. jacking puck, tire plug kit and a small $10 air compressor in case of emergency.

Hey Now:
All I can tell you is, changed out the runflats for Bridgestone S03's and it is like driving a different car. :hurray: Much better ride, handling and less noise. Have not rode in other cars with aftermarket runflats.
