Default FINALLY finished my Nitrous install: links

So I finally finished installing my Nitrous system. I ran all the wiring to the back of the car to a separate fuse box. Also used the NX switches in the ashtray area. These pix are huge as I'm still learning to post to my web site so dial up beware http://jeffhess.ipsinc.us/allunderhood.jpg http://jeffhess.ipsinc.us/allunderhood.jpg http://jeffhess.ipsinc.us/nosbottle.jpg http://jeffhess.ipsinc.us/indatrunkbottle.jpg http://jeffhess.ipsinc.us/gaugestuff.jpg http://jeffhess.ipsinc.us/underhoodstuff.jpg

BTW: Took my car to MMS to be Dyno Tuned before I "pushed the button", but I have a dead #1 cylinder at idle.... so the head is coming off now and if it turns out to be ugly I'll have Al build me a better toy.

I thought the same thing. NX "claims" it will have no affect and this system has been used on the camaros for a while now with no problems?? Too bad I can't test it yet!!

Looks like a nice job but I think you have the bottle at the wrong angle as far as the pickup tube inside the bottle, the line should face down or you wont get full use of the juice, at least that is what I was told. check with someone else Im still new with this stuff :steering:

As I'm new to this myself I "thank you" for the comment. Anybody else? I will call NX today to find out but it makes sense.

This is a wet kit from NX. It's their Gemini kit. It replaces the factory MAF housing ends and sprays through the inside of the unit. It was developed for the F-Body cars. At the SEMA show this year the guys at the NX booth talked me into this unit for the Vette and showed me the data they had on flow and mixture, etc You guys are starting to scare me a bit.... I hope it works okay.

I ran all the wiring to the back of the car to a separate fuse box.
Can you give a list of parts, or a link to the supplier for the fuse panel. I had planned to do this exact thing before deciding to sell my car (and my nitrous kit). As many can see, with the window switch, FPSS, etc, etc, the wiring can get a little messy. The separate juice panel makes it much cleaner. Great Work!!!

Very nice installation :yesnod:

The way you have your bottle is backwards for the direction it is mounted. The optimal mounting is front-to-back, but you have space limitations. With the side-to-side mounting, you should face the outlet (where the N2O comes out) toward the rear of the car. This way, the nozzle inside the bottle will be directed toward the back.

The tube inside the bottle actually angles down to the bottom and is biased to one side. The tube picks up nitrous from the bottom of the bottle on the same side of the outlet hose.

With your current mounting, as you accelerate, the tube may not get good pick-up as it is currently pointed toward the front of the car. Make sense? :D

Thank you! I just got off the phone with NX. They reviewed this post and my pix and agree with you. Ultimately a 45 degree angle to the rear would be best, but your way with my clearence issues will work better than what I've done. This can also be done with a minimum of trouble. I just like the fact it all fits under my trunk cover. Because the bottle sits at an angle, the bottle opener just touches the cover now.

For those of you e-mailing me: The mounts on the shroud that hold the solenoids and bottle brackets were custom made by a friend of mine out of a solid block of aluminum. As I accidentaly deleted your e-mails, please get back to me and I will forward your requests.
