After 6 months, the RK Sport long tube headers is already broke off the weld on one of the little tubes. It's on the driver side. Tonight I decided to unbolt the header and have it welded back tomorrow. It was easy enough to unbotl the the driver side header but taking it out is another story. :mad
The steering wheel shaft is disconnected and moved out of the way. The valve cover & coil rack is off the car. But the header won't come out from top. So I try to take it out from under the car. Nope, still not gonna work :mad
Hmm... Let's see... OK, if I remove the Alternater/Steering Wheel pump bracket assembly maybe I can slide the header forward enough to take it out. So here I am trying to unbolt the 4 15mm bolts. Of course there is that really hard to reach one that none of my wrench, rachet, socket or tool will fit. There just not enough room in there :mad
I guess I will have to buy a stubby 15mm wrench tomorrow and try again :cuss
Anyone got any hint, helper, tip on how to remove that pesky little bolt at the bottom?
Good luck getting to that bolt without pulling the water pump. It's definitely a pain and I ended up just taking the water pump off last time after trying several methods, including a stubby. :boxing
They are. Levi (C5Noir), his brother and I put my set on in about an hour, no issues at all.
As far as that bolt goes, the stubby is about the best chance you'll have. I went to sears, and got a stubby gear wrench that had a 0* offset (it's flat) and I was able to get that guy in there and then ratchet it loose and then tight again.
Put the steering shaft up on the frame rail. Take the oil filter off and possibly the little manifold that holds the oil temp sender. It will come right out. I've done at least 20 sets of these. I actually think they're one of the easier headers to install.

The steering shaft is on the frame rail. Didn't take off the oil filter yet. Sounds like I have to pull it from the bottom... Andy can you please give me a little more detail on how to manuever the header out?
Thanks
