I will be purchasing (finally) an after market exhaust, have narrowed it between the Corsa Indy's and the GLH. My question involes how loud will these be when I add headers. Planing on the FLP's this summer. I have read some posts where members have swapped down to the corsa touring when they added the headers as it was to loud with the indys. .
Anyone have the FLP's and the GLH exhaust? Did the addition of the headers make ot to loud (I know---TOO LOUD???)
To me, it is perfect. Loud enough to turn heads, but not excessively loud to worry about getting pulled over for it. Very deep and tough sounding both at idle, and it just screams at WOT in the higher RPM's, and no resonance inside the car. With the cruise set on the freeway, it is as quiet as stock inside the car. (unless accelerating).
I had the GHL system on first, added the headers later. They only made it somewhat louder under heavy acceleration, otherwise it sounds about the same.
If I were starting over, I would buy the same setup again without hesitation.
Y2K - thanks, was what I was hoping to hear. Have not heard anything bad about the GLH's and will probably go with these over the Indy's. Curious, what tips did you go with and did you do the install yourself?
I just switched from Corsa Indy's to GHL's, and I have FLP headers. IMO both the Indy's and GHL's are equally loud (or equally quiet, depending on how you look at it :D).
Too loud vs. just right vs. not loud enough is obviously based on personal preference. IMO, both systems are about perfect in terms of volume. You can hear them at idle and cruise, but not to the point of causing the neighbors to hunt you down and set you on fire. But they get much louder as you get on the throttle. Which is  :D.
I prefer the GHL's to the Corsa's because they have a much deeper tone; they sound as awesome at idle as they do at WOT.
