I have a 1998 with an LM7 5.3 swapped in, using original PCM.
Just had an A&A supercharger installed, car was running fine, when it was pulled out of the shop Reduced Engine Power came up and the car started throwing P0606 & P1518. Will Crank, but no start. Replaced battery, no change.
They had tapped into Fuses 15 and 31 for wideband and boost gauges, both are still showing 12v running through.
Am I missing something, or is my PCM just cooked?
Also, if I need to replace should I move to a newer PCM?
When you guys start swapping different engines into your car chances are it's not going to run right or not at all...if you still have the original PCM and wiring harness I'd go pin by pin on every sensor on that new engine and compare it a wiring diagram for your PCM...sorry but can't tell you if your PCM is bad...as far as the P1518 check your THROT CONT fuse and also make sure you have power going to that fuse...also check the TAC motor wires for power...good luck !!
Appreciate the replies! The car has had the 5.3 in for several years with no previous issues. I have seen several people say that P0606 is unrecoverable in other threads. Would this be the case if TAC is causing the issue? Or can solving P1518 possibly resolve both?
Decided to go with a repin to 12200411 since car is FI. Was able to get a 411 pcm on eBay and have a VIN from an 02 flashed in for no additional charge.
