Default MN12 Oil Change

The MN12 temp sensor fill plug threads are coated with what appears to be a sealer, does anyone know if I need to re-coat the threads before reinstallation. If so what type of sealer should I use, teflon tape, silicone?

Sounds like the same as my MN6 when I put some Redline in a couple of weeks ago. I presumed it was covered in red Loctite Threadlock. I didn't have any red threadlock but I did have some blue left over from the Hurst install so I used that instead. Before putting the sensor/plug back in I checked with an aviation engineer friend who said that the only difference was that the red was a bit more powerful than the blue, but that the blue was fine for this purpose. I haven't noticed any leaks yet !

I just screwed mine back in and it was fine. No leaks.
