Default Nitto 555RII on Dyno?

Hey all,

Just a quick question, I've got an '04 Z06, H/C/Vortech V3 Ti that I'm going to have dyno tuned in the near future hoping for 550-575 rwhp. I've got a set of 305/35R18 Nitto 555RII's that I am going to run on the car. What's currently on the car appear to be the factory set (the car has 9k miles on it and the previous owner kept EVERYTHING stock). The tire's aren't in great shape, so I was going to just go ahead and swap on the Nitto's before heading to the dyno, but then I read a few stories of guys losing tires on the dyno due I suppose to the added friction (I don't know)??

What do you guys know about this?

I called the shop doing the dyno tuning and they said the drag radials will be fine on the dyno.

I would hate to lose a tire like that - it looks like it did tremendous damage to the car.

Thanks!

ECS didn't experience any issues on the dyno with my car on NT555R2's at 640whp/568wtq. I just aired them up to 28psi and had 3 pulls.

This is an interesting watch...
