Will a nearly stock engine make more power with some Octane Boost, like that octane 104 stuff? Or is running the 93 all that you need? Anyone tested the stuff?
I have heard of people having problems using that stuff. It has been known to screw up the spark plugs and I have yet to hear of anyone feeling SOTP difference or dynoing any more power...
Octane rating has absolutly no relationship in a fuels ability to create more power. It's simply an anti knock rating (a rating of a fuels ability to not pre-ignite under hear and/or pressure)
In fact, too much octane can actually act like timing retard, since the burn rate of the flame would be slower.
you do not need to increase your octane for a stock motor. If you're trying to combat knock, you need to investigate an existing problem, not increase octane.
using octane higher than a motor needs will not help performance at all. In fact, it will hurt it a some point since octane slows down the burn rate of the fuel.

I lost power. We dynoed it testing some mods and it was down around 10HP. I also lost power using race gas. There are tech reasons but I don't remember the details. Something about the computer and the ingredients in the additive.

I ruined a set of spark plugs in my C4 using Octane Boost.

Before I had tuning, I was running really lean and a few gallons of 100 actually helped my E.T. and consistancy. After the Vette Doctors tuned my car, 100 octane would make it run slower.
