On my 1998 with 55k on it, I replaced the compressor, but the Driver’s side isn’t AS COLD as the Passenger side. One mechanic advised it’s not the compressor, not the Freon but rather the “ actuator”? Can someone shed some light on this?

What were the events leading to replacing the compressor? How was it determined to be bad? Was anything else changed with the compressor?
Who serviced the refrigerant after the compressor install?
