Default 1998 Dual A/C- Driver Side Not As Cold

On my 1998 with 55k on it, I replaced the compressor, but the Driver’s side isn’t AS COLD as the Passenger side. One mechanic advised it’s not the compressor, not the Freon but rather the “ actuator”? Can someone shed some light on this?

What were the events leading to replacing the compressor? How was it determined to be bad? Was anything else changed with the compressor?

Who serviced the refrigerant after the compressor install?

Pull and post your codes.

A common cause of drivers side warmer than passenger side is low refrigerant charge.

Pardon my ignorance, but does each side have it’s own Freon reservoir ?

The short answer is No, there is only one heat exchanger that cools the hot incoming air.

onboard diagnostics will show actuator fault, usually it would be hot air not a symptom of "not as cool as passenger side"
