Default IAT sensor.

Hey, I was wondering if anyone has got themselves in the same situation as me.

I was recently bought a Black Wing Filter with a Vortex Power Duct for my 1998 C5 Corvette on FB market for a pretty good price. However, I ran into a couples issues, one being that the duct didn't have holes for the 2 OEM lines (IAT sensor and Fuel pressure regular vacuum line). I looked around and seen that I can just drill two holes to put these two in but that brings me into another issue being with the MAF sensor which was a 5 wire on the purchased Intake and my car originally was a 3 wire. I purchased an adapter that It claims to have a built in IAT sensor signal (I couldn't find just the 3 to 5 wire adapter). Can I just leave the OEM IAT sensor unplugged since the adaptor claims it has one? Do I even bother drilling a hole for the IAT sensor if the Adapter already has one?

Help ahaha. I'm not very good with explanations so If u have questions please ask away.

e Cold air Intake. The wire on the left connects to my OEM wire. and the wire on the right is the IAT sensor connector

The MAF sensor here is a 5 wire
The MAF sensor here is a 5 wire
No holes in the duct
No holes in the duct

The ECU needs an IAT sensor somewhere. You can use the one in the maf, or one intake tube, it just needs at least one of them somewhere wired to those 2 wires of critical importance. The other just leave it disconnected. You could remove the one in the tube but you might need it later or have trouble plugging the hole right away.

I assume this is a factory 5 wire MAF, so if my memory serves correctly, you will have to have a tuner adjust the MAF tables for the PCM.

FYI, the air filter is supposed to be blue, so it needs a cleaning/oiling.

100% a street tune is the best way to tighten up the MAF table and it would be a good idea to adjust the VE table for the bolt on mods. A good place to start tuning.

So I can leave the OEM IAT Male Connector opened ? Just tucked away from water and debris? As well as leaving the Adapter’s 2 wire open?

So I connect the IAT connector from the engine to the top right connector and leave it out in the open ?

What do you mean "out in the open" all the wiring is out in the open.
