Glad to see success with your job!
A little bit of anti seize on the plugs makes it easier to thread in by hand before you wrench & torque

Happy new Year

Just my .02, but regardless of some articles I've read thru the years, I'd NEVER again use antiseize on my sparkplugs. If the OEMs use antiseize, it is only because they know people tend to leave plugs in for 10 years/100,000 miles. I have my plugs out every 2 or 3 years, so I wouldn't use, or need it again. Also agree with @mmartinez that grease on the tap will be superior to oil at holding any small metallic particles....

Yeah, that was the conventional wisdom with old champion plugs and cast iron heads. Spark plugs for LS engines are designed to go in dry. The plating on the spark plug threads acts as a release agent for removal. Antisieze does nothing except act as a lubricant, and alter the torque value.

My plugs have been in for 23 years! There're still 30,000 miles before their first change!

That is why I used a forward slash between 10 YEARS and/or 100,000 MILES. If they've been in there for 23 years, you might, or might not, have difficulty removing them. I wish you luck......

To close the loop, I was able to successfully use the back tap tool and the threads look and work great. New plug is in and the misfire is gone! Thanks for all of the help and support!
