A buddy of mine has a '97 coupe, and is now having problems shifting into first gear. He says the other gears are not as smooth shifting as before, also.
Any ideas? Could this be a problem with the aluminum forks in the MN6?

Re: MN6 Problems (TOPGUN9)
I'm kind of curious as to the responce you are going to get. It could be the hydraulic actuator (slave cylinder) for the pressure plate. I remember reading another post about the same problem. He found the hydralic fluid to be comtaminated and bleeding the clutch solved his problem. The fluid is a Dot 3 brake fluid which will develop a certain amount of condensation. He also found little pieces of a black substance which looked like pieces of the gasket in the cap. I hope it's not a serious problem.I'm sure the members of the forum will be as helpful as they can be.

I would have to say it may be time for a rebuild. If you bang gears something is bound to go. The 1-2 syncros are weak in the T-56 IMO. I am on my 3rd rebuild. My car sees alot of seat time, both on the street and at the track.
There are several companies that sell a stronger T56, but I dont have much info about them

Flush the clutch! I think you will be ready to go.
It fixed my 2000.
