98 ECM challenge
For years I've had challenges with electrical gremlins in my 1998 C5. After paying $1,000 in diagnostic services I was informed my ECM was misbehaving. I found a vendor which promised to rebuild it to my car's VIN specs for $350.00 (Module Experts). After a 2 week wait I received the ECM back via mail and of course assumed it had been repaired. (No notification, only the ECM) The ECM was reinstalled and the car seemed fixed. After a week the battery became low and I was told the prior problem had destroyed the batter so I purchased a new one. Then the new battery went flat. Hiring a new mechanic I paid an additional $1,169 to determine the source of a parasitic draw and have an alarm resistor replaced after dash disassembled. The result, bad ECM. I called Module Experts and was informed they couldn't fix it and would try and refund my $350? Total RAGE. Their incompetence cost me an unnecessary $1,000.
Any advice on a way to fix or obtain a working ECM?
Thank you
