The pin on my radiator drain plug broke off. I checked the drained fluid and surrounding ground but unable to find it. I inserted a small magnet into the radiator plug hole and no pin.
I am not sure if the pin is in the radiator or not. Has anyone else had this happen? Any suggestions on what to do next?
Thanks in advance for any replies
If it was me, I'd replace the plug fairly soon. That pin holds the valve closed. I think they are available pretty much anywhere...Dorman, Amazon, etc
As far as the whereabouts of the pin...who knows? Most likely it went out with the draining fluid. If it's in the rad I doubt it'll go anywhere else....I doubt the coolant flow has enough energy to pick it up and send it through the system.
