I'm trying to replace a failed EBCM. I bought 2 BCMs with the same part number as the original. I have both the Tech2 and MDI tools. I've updated the PCM and modules with MDI and configured the BCM options with the Tech2 (the Tech2 recognizes the BCM).
I followed this procedure:
Connected the Body Control Module to the vehicle
Inserted the key into the ignition and turned it to the RUN position (where the key stops naturally without force, NOT cranking the engine)
Kept the key in the run position for at least 10 minutes
Turned the car to the OFF position and waited for at least 15 seconds (end of first cycle)
Repeated step 2, turning the key to the run position and waiting for 10 minutes
Turned the car off again and waited for 15 seconds (completing the second cycle)
Once more, turned the key to the run position and left it there for 10 minutes
Turned the car to the OFF position, waiting for 30 seconds
When I turn the key to start the vehicle, nothing happens. It only starts with the original BCM.
The security light doesn't disappear or blink after step 3 (whether waiting 10, 11, or 30 minutes) - it stays on.
The Corvette has LMC5 installed. Could the LMC5 be preventing the procedure from working?
I've also removed VATS with HP Tuners, but it still won't start at all.
There's no sound, nothing when I turn the key. Any ideas?
I replaced a BCM on a friends car(2000 mod) and replaced it with a used one with same partno.
Did this passkey routine and it fired right up.
I think you have to wait 11 minutes , not 10 minutes with 30 sec pauses not 15 sec

Hooray, Saturday morning riddles.
The title of your thread is "Change EBCM". You then state "I'm trying to replace a failed EBCM".....the proceed to only discuss the BCM.
Why do you always have to be a jerk when someone posts I question for help.
Whiskey kicking in partner? Seeking clarification. Many people post one thing and mean another. They run in circles and in turn the person trying to help runs in circles.
I’m sorry you don’t look like my partner at least I don’t think so. , I know you’re a professional and corvette expert but some people here are not including me just looking for advice and not as talented as you. And by the way I don’t drink but may have to start. I will respond to your private message when I can figure out how to do it. Have a wonderful week and enjoy the cold weather spring is on its way.
Yes I have wait 30 seconds. (I have copy / paste the procedure from a website for illustration), it's 30 secondes sorry :-)
After 10, 11 or even 20 minutes the security stay on, doesn't disapear or doesn't blink
