Does anyone know the exact reason why this light would come on?
Fortunately I have the Column Lock Bypass in my car...cause it got me really concerned.
I was driving out to my sisters place at lunchtime today, took one of the shore roads, was hammering it around a curve, hit a little bump in the road, no big deal, but up pops this "Security" alert on my dash.
Sort of wonder if I did NOT have the CLB, whether my steering wheel may have locked...
The car continued to drive as if nothing happened. When I got back in it from being at my sisters, the light did NOT come on.
Just curious as to why this would trigger while in motion...and at GOOD speed...60+ MPH.
It's probably a problem with the key. If you have a lot of junque on your keychain, it will affect the behavior of the key in the ignition switch. Going over a bump probably jostled the key in the ignition and it lost contact with the resistor button.
