Why is this ground wire here?
I had to replace my O-ring on the Cam Sensor in my 2000 Corvette, so I had to remove the intake manifold. While in that process I had to disconnect the PCV hose at the passenger side of the throttle body. ( I understand that the location of the PCV has changed several times on these LS motors.)
Here is my question; Within an inch or so of the PCV location there is a thick grounding wire ( about 10 or 8 gauge ) imbedded to the vacuum hose, it's about 2 inches long and the other end of the wire is bolted down on the same stud used to connect the air bleed cross over tubing between the right and left heads.
To me, it looks like "They" are intentionally grounding the PCV hose, since it travels along each injector on the right bank of the engine. It looks very factory like.
I am the third owner of this car, I have owned it the past 21 years, I bought it when it had about 20 K miles, I don't think this is someone's add on...
It seems very strange to ground out a vacuum hose.
Does anyone know why?
Thanks in advance.
Mike
On that is a black rubber hose that goes from it to the Throttle Body on the drivers side, then out of the Throttle Body on the passengers side to the Radiator.
Disconnect it from the Throttle Body and barb both ends together. Easy trick to pick up a couple ponies. It's called the Throttle Body Bypass.

OP is asking about this “grounding wire” on the PCV valve.
I added in what I did for those who didn't know what it was since the diagram was there and if someone wanted to do it they could have at it. I think that was the first thing I did with my Z06 then put a tune on it.
