Can you remove the HUD?

Is there a way to remove the heads up display from a C5? I personally don’t like HUDs on cars, so I’m wondering if it’s possible to remove it.

Just buy a base C5 without a HUD. Seems like a crazy thought to remove an existing one that works. If you don't like to look at it, cover it up with something and leave it in place.

You have to fill a hole in the dash or find a replacement if you rip it out... you can't turn it off? or pull a fuse?

**** if it weren't such a pain in the *** I would trade dashes with you, thought about modding one into my 01 but after I did the stereo I have no desire to go back under there until my ignition dies.

Turn it off of down below view. I love them and won't buy one without it. Im pretty sure its a big job, dash apart to get into them. This always leads to new squeaks and rattles. Then, you'd have a big hole, unless you replaced the whole dash top.
