Default 2002 Corvette high voltage indicated on the DIC sometimes...

Greetings to all, I'm a newbie on this form working on a problem on my car C5 Corvette DIC intermittently posts high voltage. All gauges are usually dead. They intermittently pop up once in a while. Alternator voltage measured at 14.3 volts. Ran a scan and did not see any posted errors on any module. Then I ran the diagnostic tests If I run all of the individual tests on the gauges (sweep test) they all indicate that they work. One of the pid's showed cluster voltage at 18.5 volts. I measured it it was more like 14. As long as the gauge cluster is seeing 18.5 volts I do believe that it has turned itself off with no codes. D i c works intermittently but most of the time it is off. At this point I'm lost I've done all the testing that I could anybody have any suggestions?

The voltmeter gets it signal from the Ignition 1 voltage circuit from IPC fuse 19…the DIC voltage is normally about 0.4 volts lower than the voltage measured at the battery…if you are having issues with the IP your ground G104 may be the cause…a bad ground could elevate your 14 volts you see to 18 volts…instead of the ground near 0 it may be near 4 volts…I think G104 is below the battery tray on the right frame rail…you will have to remove the IP connector C1 pin B13 as in the wiring diagram…connect incandescent test light to B+ and probe B13…test light should be bright….just cleaning the ground isn’t enough…you have to test !!..you could also test with your DVOM and back probe B13 and see what voltage you see car running…black lead to ground and red lead to B13…this is a loaded circuit ground to ground voltage drop check.
