Does anyone have a recommendation for a pdf version of the 2003 Service Manual? Hard copies at $250 and up seem a bit excessive. A pdf would be fine BUT it's hard to tell from the websites which ones are legit.
I've searched this forum without any luck, so I turn to the vast knowledge base of this awesome group!
The .pdf is ok but it's very disorganized. There are hundreds of 'sub-pdfs' that make searching impractical for the average user.
The printed manual is far, far easier to use. If you're actually going to be working on your car and those two are your only choices the printed version gets my vote.
I've heard good things about AllData, not sure if they have info on the C5. IMO a good index and search function is key to any electronic version.

You can get a 1 month, 1 or 3 year subscription on Alldata DIY for $19.99 if you only need it for a month…all Service Info and OEM wiring diagrams…it’s the best for a DIY’er…you can print out what you need…this is good for wiring diagrams.
I’ve been looking for the PDF too, so thanks for the Alldata DIY tip. I think it’s a great solution. But yesterday I realized I couldn’t open my saved PDF manuals. I had to convert them to another format with a free online tool https://onlydoc.com/png-to-pdf that I occasionally use when I need a reliable converter. It worked, and I was able to open the file, so if anyone runs into a similar issue, this might help. I think the problem was with my reader.

I bought a 1998 three volume service manual on ebay for $50 three years ago. There are electrical differences on the newer cars but most of the mechanical things are the same and it is much easier to find what you are looking for with the paper index. I also use the index to help find what I'm looking for in the free PDF.

No so much. There are noteworthy differences between a 98 and 2004.
Air intake is different
Cylinder heads are different
Fuel system is different
A.I.R system is different
Air bag system is different
ABS system is different
Cooling system is different
IPC is different
PCM is different
