So I have about 97,000 miles on my C5 and figured what the heck changed the PCV valve. I’m was getting zero symptoms I changed it and now the car idles very rough and almost wants to stall like it has a bad PCV. I put the old one in and everything works fine. I still wanted to put a new one in there. Does it take time for the computer to sense more airflow or something? Any ideas I can’t imagine I got the wrong one. Everything fits perfectly looks exactly like the old one. Just thought I would post this because it’s such a strange happening.

Hopefully you have figured this out by now. If not try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes, this will rest the computer. If the old pcv was restricted replacing it will be seen as a vacuum leak and make the car run bad.
I just did the battery disconnect left it off there for over an hour just to be sure put the new PVC valve in and it seemed like it helped but I drove around and it’s still in neutral, surging, and almost stalling may be a little better. not sure how long you have to drive. I drove for probably 15 20 minutes. I’m gonna keep it in there and see what happens as I drive it more
Pics would be helpful. Also if it is the style PCV that wraps around the back of the engine the rubber y behind the intake may have fallen apart while you were working on it so you might want to check that.
Great comment Simac, but I looked up microgard 391 and yes, it is the correct one for my application, but on the fat end, the hole is quite a bit smaller than what I have in there currently which I believe to be the original PCV valve when I put back in the old one, everything runs fine I’d love to run a new one, but it almost doesn’t make sense to bother. There was never a problem. I just thought it was a cheap thing to replace and good to do. What do you guys think?
