ACA Headlight Help Needed
Like most of these headlights, there are no instructions. The headlights appear to be in their original padded box, but there are no markings or branding.
I have viewed several YouTube videos and forum discussions, but I do not see any ACA setup similar to mine. I would like to know how it goes together before I start dismantling the OEM lights. FYI, I have replaced the headlight gear and DRL housings, so I’m familiar with the territory.
Here are my questions:
1. Starting with the ACA headlight, low beam side, what do the red and black wires attach to? They appear to be from the halo ring light and they go through a small box containing resistors. After the small box, the wires do not have connectors—they are bare.
2. What does the red wire/connector from the ballast attach to? It is just a generic, two prong, female connection.
3. Finally, the two connectors that are adjacent to the high beam connector (and blue bulb in the photo). One connector is two prong, with a white, plus the red and black wires that also go to the high beams.. The second connector is single prong and has the white wire (from the plug just mentioned) and a green wire from the new ACA harness.
Thank you!

If you want real aca headlights that have an extremely high light control, quality of output and focused performance, you'll need to get a pair of bi-led from sharplight.
They'll be much more expensive but it will be worth it to actually see at night.

1. These are for the Angel eye ring. Red 12v+ black ground. Most people will tap into the parking light circuit (The small side marker bulb)
2. Typically, this plugs into the low beam connector (9006), however your harness is designed for this to be an H9 halogen bulb which is what came with the projector originally. If you want to use the included harness, you will need to modify the harness connection to use a 9006 female connector. Alternatively, we have a HI-4 harness that plugs into the under hood fuse box allowing you to plug the HID ballast directly into the factory low beam connector and the high beam bulb directly into the high beam connector.
3. This is designed to provide a one-way link to keep the low beams on when you turn on the high beam. You can use our Hi-4 harness (See #2) to get around suing this giant harness and changing connectors.
This being said, JDM vette is correct. You will not be happy with the output from these lights. You have the Chinese copy of the ACA lights which have the following problems:
- poor optics resulting in minimal (if any) cutoff in the low beam pattern causing glare and poor illumination
- poor weather seal resulting in severe moisture penetration
- VERY fragile housing that tends to crack on installation even with careful use of hand tools.
- Unable to upgrade the projector to our Bi-LED projector since the projector assembly is glued (not just bolted) to the housing.
The Pattern and output you can expect to see from your kit
Output and pattern from our kit (note the added lines showing the cutoff for reduced glare)
Our headlights may be a little more expensive, but if you frequently drive at night, being able to see is a safety issue that justifies the price:
