changed my o2 sensors yesterday on a c5 I bought last week as it was throwing the p1133 and p1153 codes. this was causing a check engine light, when I changed them I had the battery disconnected so the codes and engine light went away, but while driving today only the p1133 code came back. does anyone know why? the car is completely stock
OK, here is the OE flowchart…read step 3 and then read step 8…fuel contamination or this thing is using oil or coolant…can even be a exhaust leak…was a comprehensive PPI done before purchase ??
me and my dad are decently mechanically inclined, we didnt have car on a lift or anything but everything seemed to check out. we are possibly hearing a vacuum leak but not completely sure where. sounds like it is coming behind the intake manifold. it is possible there is an exhaust leak, but the only aftermarket parts on the car are a few pipes near the downstream sensors. I wouldnt think that would set off the upstream sensors.
Well getting underneath the car is the only way you’ll be able to check for an exhaust leak…maybe best to take the car to a diagnostic shop in your area.
ive been under the car since I bought it and havent been able to see anything. I just took the battery tray out to look for anything in there and it looks all good. im about to go under the car again and look
