OBD II Performance Logging Chip: CarChipE/X

What's neat about this is that it's a small module that plugs into the OBDII port. Plug it in and then run the car without a laptop flailing about the cabin :) It records up to 300 hrs of data which can be plugged into your computer for data download.
This was reviewed on The Screen Savers, which should replayed 2/13/03 in the morning and afternoon. $180 gets a neat little toy. Plus, put it on the kids car to see their driving habits, such as RPMs, Top speed, braking effort, miles traveled and more.
Could come in handy for troubleshooting the other cars in the stable too.

Pretty sweet mod! Here is a link to the techtv review on this product

Here's the pdf sales brochure At the bottom are the specs.
 product indeed.
Saw it in the New Products at SEMA section of the latest European Car.
Is anyone else thinking what I'm thinking?
Tuck it behind the OBD port, and tap into each wire behind it, so it leaves the port open. It'll be hidden, so you can log exactly what happens when you take the car to the dealer!!!

Cool idea, totally useless for performance logging.
I use efilive and with 24 parameters can log at 9-10 "frames" per second. Each frame captures all 24.
