Sorry, maybe here allready have a solution, but I didint find
I have C5 -99 automatic and cruise control not working. I know that manual gearbox have CC release switc near cluch pedal, put where I have to look aut.trans? No error codes about that.
Without a factory level or equivalent aftermarket scan tool where you can look at “inputs” to the CC this will be impossible to find without replacing parts and may even be a wiring issue…you turn CC on…that’s an input…you press the set switch…that’s an input…you press the brake...that's an input...you can check these inputs with that kind of scan tool…troubleshooting tree below…good luck !!
Every cruise control won't work issue I have ever had was a brake pedal switch. Not sure on the C5 whether there is a single or multiple switch, but that would be my first thought. Make sure the pedal comes all the way back up when depressed. For that matter, try lifting the pedal while simultaneously trying to engage the cruise.
I have the manual, so not personally familiar with the auto pedal hanger and parts. Looking at the reference sketch in the parts manual and pictures of the GM 11516210 (discontinued!), sketch reference #14, I see multiple contact points and electric connections. The sketch also shows and references a cruise control release, #19, but I think that's for the manual gear box only.
Meaning what? You tried pulling codes from the DIC?
Similar thought crossed my mind; there could be a fault code present that doesn't trigger a separate warning message, which could be inhibiting cruise control function.
