It's not necessary but I'm running a Bassanti X-pipe with mine. I liked the smoothflow and open design quality of the Bassanti. Corsa's and some of the others look rough and I can't see where they would smooth out the flow any more than the stock H.

Thanks for the tip on the xpipe... I checked out the Bassani on some vendor sites and it looks good. I'm considering getting in on Xtreme's latest sale on the Borla Stingers but I'm not sure if the Borla's will pass the wife's "IT'S TOO LOUD!!" test... :rolleyes:

My wife is not too crazy about loud pipes. I have Borla Catbacks on my '99 SS and they sound great. Even my wife says they sound good. My son loves to drive it and "growl" at the local Mustangs that think they're hot stuff. They usually slink away when they hear it. I put Corsa Pace Cars on my 01 Vette and even my wife said she didn't see where it sounded any different then the stock. I dumped them and got the Stingers. She says they are definitely better sounding then stock but not as loud as the Camaro. I think she's going to like them as I will and they were good choice. I considered the Borla XR-1 race system. That would have breathed better as it is straight back w/o mufflers but I was afraid the wife would complain it was too loud. I "settled" for the Stingers and I am happy. Good luck!
