How does on measure the tread on a tire using a coin? I forgot what was the technique.

I just check mine by "eye". Obviously when the tread and "wear bars" get pretty close to even it's adios time for the tire. Some folks probably wouldn't even wait that long to get rid of them. :yesnod:

Use a penny. If you can see the top of Lincoln's Head, it's time to replace tires.
It's just as easy to look for tread bars, supposely if you see 3, it's time to replace tires.
