The issues started one afternoon when I went to take the car for a ride. 2000 six speed convertible. All black, 59k. Only owner. The engine cranked for a half second and all went dead. Took the battery to the local auto parts store and had it tested. Needless to say it was no good. It did last longer than I expected. Installed the new one and went for a ride. Then the fun began. Across the DIC messages flashed, service traction control, service ABS, service active handling. I pulled the codes , c1233, c1232. Cleared them, disconnected the battery for a while and proceeded to go out again. Same results. Took the car to my local mechanic who spent years at a Chevrolet dealership then took over the family repair shop. He followed the codes and replaced the wheel hubs. Still no luck. Moved to wiring harnesses checking for bent or broken pins. One other oddity in this disappointing saga. When you turn the car off and restart it the codes disappear and go to history and reappear when the speedo hits thirty miles per hour. Is that normal? Also ran voltage tests to be sure that wasn't an issue. After consulting with people at the dealership it was determined the ebcm gave up. I'm looking for advice as to go the used ebcm route or is there another step to take to be sure that's the issue. Also, out of curiosity , could the sudden death of the battery trigger the failure of the ebcm? My mechanic has not charged me for any of the parts. Good guy. Thanks to all. Let me know. Ben

The chances of both hubs going bad at the same time for the exact same reason are slim and none. He may be a good guy for not charging you for his lack of troubleshooting expertise....but do not take your car back there.

Thank you . A starting point (decision tree) for the issue. It is beyond my capability but will find a tech that can use this info. It may be a little bit but I will get back to you and the forum.
