Fuel gauge not working
Hello. New to the fourm.
I have a 2004 base model that started throwing a p0446 code. I replaced the fuel cap with no luck. I moved on to the EVAP solenoid (rear passenger side). After replacing the solenoid my fuel gauge quit working. Does anyone know if it's related? Could I have disturb something in the harness thats near there? Or is it just a strange coincidence? Asking for help and advice. Thanks

A P0446 would not be a gas cap issue because the PCM when it does its test is looking for the fuel tank pressure to drop to atmospheric pressure in a certain amount of time and it did not...a bad gas cap would actually not cause this code to set….you may have a restriction like a clogged EVAP cannister or a bad fuel tank pressure sensor...the right tank fuel level sensor and the fuel tank pressure sensor share the same low reference or PCM ground...do you have a scan tool or did you use the DIC to see what trouble code you had ??
