Default Finally LS6 intake

Finally grabbed one. Installing on July 7.
BTR stage 3, valvetrain upgrades, trunnion upgrades,
400 rwhp / 430 rwtq
Yank SS3600, 1 7/8 headers.
Will swapping my LS1 intake for the LS6 intake yield a higher rpm range? I understand power gains, but will it be from increased rpm?

New tune required?

The LS6 intake will allow for more power at a slightly higher rpm, especially considering the other mods you've done. As for a tune, if you already have a tune, which I'm sure you do, you could probably get by with having the tuner just do a WOT tune. You may be a bit lean now at WOT. Also, WOT is in open loop. The computer doesn't "learn" in open loop. As for the rest of the tune, youre probably fine, because the computer can make slight adjustments and learn in closed loop/part throttle. If I'm wrong, and I dont think I am, I'm sure someone will chime in. If you can't get a sufficient answer here, you might want to post this in the scan and tune section. Best of luck to you.....

I’m no tuner, and have a stock internal engine, but from reading these forums for years, BTR stage 3 cam is alot for an A4 transmission with stock rear gears. The 3600 converter is going in the right direction, I don’t think an LS6 intake will do much. You need to piece everything together with that cam, I suggest AFR heads, Fast 90/90 if you can find it, and a 3.73 gear, just because of your cam choice. From my understanding that cam is like a 233/239 duration with over a .600 lift, on stock cylinder heads and stock gearing, good luck.

like I said, I’m no tuner or engine builder. I could be wrong, I would add more parts if it were my car.

For the kids watching at home
...all 2001-2004 LS1 and LS6 intake manifolds are the same.

I do have a set of untouched 799 heads on it as well. The combo drives great. I will prob get a returned.
Best of 11.92 @ 115 with a 1.72 60 ' On MT ET Streets
Last time I hit a 1.699 60' , but the heat of the day stole 3 tenths and 3 mph. Was hoping for an 11.80 and now looking for an 11.6 with new manifold.

oh, cam is in there already, and 799 heads, your just adding the LS6 intake? Already went 400 rear wheel?, maybe hit 405 with manifold? It’s good to know it drives good. Do you at least have 3.15 gears?

That's good performance. My hot rods/corvettes have always been manuals, but I look forward to one day having a good automatic set up.
