Default Came here for help

Hi, I have a 2003 c5 corvette I’m doing a clutch replacement on. I am putting in a twin disk clutch and a new slave cylinder. I went to do the measurements for the shims. Which measured way off what it should be. Could this be because of it being a twin disk. So it has more area it takes up. Leading to off measurements and so I should stack shims?

If you don't get much or any responses here, I would recommend posting up in your regional section or somehow linking up with a local and reputable mechanic who's done several clutch installs for a variety of vehicles and possibly the Corvette, and maybe that person or that group can give you further insight and shed some light. Even attending some local Corvette meets could help do the trick as well because they've probably been in your position or they may know where to direct you from previous experience or ideas.

Good luck and welcome aboard.

I am pretty sure someone on this forum will respond to your question as this site has members that have very detailed knowledge on doing a clutch installation and how to correctly shim the slave cylinder.
