My 01 will start but then die in a few seconds. Only thing on the dic is low oil level but level is full. Any ideas?
battery is less than a year old.
On tender at 14.7 volts 99% of the time.
tried original key and brand new key same thing
Dont know if oil level warning is an combo issue or just a coincidence.
video of that it is doing.
If you have some mechanical or electrical experience you can try this….
1) Locate the 2 Star Connectors to the left of the BCM and remove the buss bar or “comb” from star connector #2…it has 4 wires on it…see if the car starts…if no start go to next step.
2) Now remove the comb off the other star connector leaving both combs removed…make a jumper wire and jumper the BCM to PCM…light green to dark green wire….if car starts you have a module other than the BCM and PCM on star connector #1 pulling the data bus down….if car still doesn’t start the module pulling the bus down is either the BCM or PCM…go to next step.
3) Take your jumper wire and connect from the purple wire (data bus wire) to the PCM (dark green wire)…now with your scan tool see if you can communicate with the PCM…if you can now communicate the PCM is good and issue may be the BCM…to see if the BCM is indeed bad take the jumper wire and connect the jumper now to the BCM (light green)…with a scan tool that can communicate with ALL modules (NOT a code reader) and if you can’t communicate we can “assume” BCM is bad…for single module “no comm” you want to check the powers and grounds to that module.
I figured out that if I leave the key to start it would stay running. I tried two separate ignition switches and both door it.
so also with a low oil level warning is theris something specific?
After I cleaned all grounds in the front of the engine bay. 104 108 102 engine grounding strap. Still getting low oil level warning and now it will only try to start. Will not turn over now.
i really thought it was sp122 and the fuel pump relay.

What does "lead the key" mean?

Why? What troubleshooting led to this?

No offense intended, but this is the most basic circuit on a C5. Two pin connector. 12v and ground. If you are struggling with this, best to take it to a trusted shop.

....only SP122 gets a ground from G105 on the left/rear/lower engine block.
Where is the troubleshooting?
Does the fuel pump run for 2 secs at key to ON?
What is the fuel pressure at the rail?
Does the fuel pressure hold?
Leave = if I hold the key to start which no longer works now
read other threads with the same symptoms and their issue was ignition switch. I have a spare so I swapped it.
the low oil warning is not the issue could be as simple as the sensor. It is just something that has been happening since the no start issue.
Fuse and relay are getting 12 volts when key is on position
security light tirns on for 2 seconds then off
fuel pump relay ground goes to a splice pack (sp122) under the batter tray. SP122 is in turn grounded at the left lower side of the block at G105
Make sure your car is in Park if auto, or neutral if a M6, insert a wire jumper between the red and purple wires at the TDR. Leave the key in the On/ Run position if the car cranks over and starts then it's something upstream of the TDR, if it doesn't crank over it could be loose battery cables, loose cables at the starter solenoid, or possibly a bad starter or the solenoid.
So you are saying you have 40 current (active ??) DTC’s ??..I doubt that…I’ve seen people using this scan tool say the same thing…can you post these trouble codes ??
So do you have a "no start" ....or ......"no crank" issue? Unless there is a communication issue, there is not anything that innova will tell you that the DIC won't.

@ C5 Diag I will post when I get off today.
@lucky it is no start. Will attempt to crank all day it was actually starting for one or two seconds and then dying and now it won't start at all I'm also going to put a fuel gauge on it when I get home because I don't hear the fuel pump cutting on when I turn the key also still got to jump the Anti-Theft but the security light is coming off for 2 seconds and going off like it's supposed to
I suggested jumpering at the TDR because it wasn't clear if you had a no crank, or a no start problem. Disregard my previous advice since it's clear that the car cranks but doesn't start.
Clear ALL DTC’s on your scan tool and the DIC and see what comes back…I’m sure you don’t have all those Powertrain codes…if you are actually setting a particular DTC you will see that on both…don’t know if you are using that scan tool correctly…I’d contact Innova and I believe they are a supporting vendor here on the Forum.
Like I said previously may be a comm issue…follow what I posted in step 2…remove the “comb” from the Star Connector with the 8 or 9 wires and jumper the light green and dark green wires…all you need is PCM and BCM for the car to start…if you crank the engine over does the Tach move ??
