I've decided on 3.73s :D I've had a set of 3.42s from a forum members sitting in my garage for over a year now, waiting to sort out programming, etc and now, since dyno tuning is readily available in my area, I'm all set :D
A local, very knowledgeable shop, will be doing the conversion and will include hardened output shafts. Might as well do it right the 1st time :D
I'll be dropping the carrier off next Sat and turn around should be pretty quick.....now just to order that converter :D
Re: [Gears] I Just Pulled the Trigger!!! (Mean Green 2000)
You should order the sy3500 if you are mostly on the street. ss36 or 3800 if you are doing alot of tack. I chose the 3.73's and sy3500  :steering:
Re: [Gears] I Just Pulled the Trigger!!! (Mean Green 2000)

Re: [Gears] I Just Pulled the Trigger!!! (Mean Green 2000)
BTW..What about the new program..Don't you have a PowerloaderII..You know that Steve locks the computer program. You may have to get that PCM reflashed to stock forst before new programming. I hope that was on your "to do" list
From: My barber didn't know when to quit... Do you?
Re: [Gears] I Just Pulled the Trigger!!! (Mean Green 2000)
Let me be the 1st to tell you....
put on DRs, find a good night with cool temps, with the headers, tuning, gears and converter you will easily be in the 11s if you hook up.
That is not something many C5s can do...just boltons running in the 11s... impressive...
Re: [Gears] I Just Pulled the Trigger!!! (2000^C5)
that's my goal ;)
I have BFG DRs 315/35/17s mounted on 17x11 GS rims :D
I don't know if it'll all be ready before the cold air goes away but I'm hoping for solid 11s in decent weather and driveable enough for trips to BG :D
Re: [Gears] I Just Pulled the Trigger!!! (2000^C5)
Good choice on both parts(converter and gears). When it's time for a trans rebuild(which may be soon), I'm either going to have mine restalled to 4000 or get a SS3800.
Enjoy!
