Default Which Oil Pickup O-Ring?

Should I use a new blue O-ring with from the dealer, or use one of the 2 O-rings (black or red) that came with my new Melling Oil Pickup Tube (aka Oil Pump Screen Assembly)? I removed the K-Frame and dropped the Oil Pan on my 04 ZO6, wow what a task! My reason, I have been having Zero Oil Pressure for up to 15 seconds on start up. I've read in another thread: "In virtually all of these situations the Oil Pump O-ring was losing its ability to seal. That or the Relief Valve is periodically sticking." (Grinder 11, 12-19-24 reply to RTHacker) I was expecting to find a loose Oil Pickup Tube or an damaged O-ring, but that was not the case.

The O-ring Choices: I purchased the Melling 303S Oil Pickup Tube, their black O-ring appears to the same size as the original blue O-ring and new blue O-ring. Their red O-ring has the same inner diameter, but is a little thicker. Would the their red O-ring be a better seal? Or should I go with the new blue O-ring from the Chevy dealer?

I am the original owner, my Vette has 68K miles, and it has no modifications. This is the first time I have gotten into the engine. I drained my oil and found no parts in the oil and nothing in the Oil Filter. My Oil Sample was tested, results: "Wear metal readings appear normal. Other analysis appear to be acceptable."

I have always gone straight to the Chevy dealer for my O-ring. My genuine GM O-ring is blue. I believe it is worth a few extra $$ to know for sure (reasonably certain) I'm getting a quality part. It's too damn much work to replace a defective O-ring from some Chinese knock off production company that I should've never purchased from to start with. You get what you pay for. My lifter trays and O-rings have always come from the dealer, and I drive there to pick them up in person......

EDIT!! While I'm at it, shame on GM for causing this whole rainbow mess of colors. They should've made all the tubes identical at the oil pump end. I'll bet quite a few guys that ended up doing the job twice would agree 100%. My .02
