There are a variety of ways to "remove" the message. Anywhere from fixing the problem to covering up that area with some tape so you can't see it.
Start with what code(s) have been set that are causing the message.
I think the Tech II or clones can turn off the system. I know they can turn it on for Z06, but the TPMS system changed in 2001, that ability may not be present on a 98.
