Well I unplugged my negative cable from the battery to remove my seats and clean my car. Upon reconnecting the battery cable, my trunk will not close. The striker seems to be hitting it looks like a spring. Is there a fix for this? The automatic open switch I see it release, but this metal rod is in the way of it closing. Please help.
(Updated) You have to make sure the convertible panel is in the latched position or fastened. If it isn't the trunk release will NOT engage. Metal rod from spring isnt moving when the striker hits it.

Reason: Found a fix
If Spider978 suggestion () does not fix, then try pushing the trunk latch in the car many times. Do the same with the key fob. If no results then disconnect and reconnect battery and do the latch routine again. The C5 is famous for it's eclectically issues.
