Default Agostino 422 Stroker

I am seriously considering buying a resleeved Aluminum 422 ARE engine. I am getting the longblock so it will have their stage 3 heads on the engine. How much horsepower can I expect to pump out with this motor. I'd like to hit 500 rwhp NA and then add Nitrous on top of that. Is 500rwhp possible with an hot cam and and say 10.5:1 compression.

Per my sig, I'm running an ARE 436, LS6 Stage III heads, and so forth. Hitting +/- 500/500 is realistic, but be careful. These engines can be tricky to tune, require top notch intake and exhaust components, and someone who knows tuning. You can get a lot out of them, but drivability can become a problem at the wild end.

Talk to Wade: he's very realistic about what you can achieve, and will NOT bullpoopie you. I spent an hour on the phone with him last week, and will be sending my toy north for some tweaking in March/April. I'm sure he'll give you good advice.

Just for comparison, my 347ci stock bottom end with P1-ATI 8psi, off-road Xpipe, and A4 is putting out 487rwhp and 439rwtq. I already have traction issues with my GY SC 295/35-18s in the lower gears.

Sure I would recommend ARE!

They build good engines and 500hp sure is no problem.

I have talked to MattG so often and he helped me so much on my setup.
He´s a great guy, so talk to him about the engine.

~500rwhp is possible with Stage III LS6 heads and a healthy sized hydraulic camshaft with about 10.9:1 CR.

Let me know if you have any questions pertaining to any of ARE's products, or if you want pricing, etc.

I would not recommend work done by ARE. I have two friends that had serious issues/problems with work done by them. This is my opinion -- which I am entitled to.

I have one of their 422 aluminum blocks being built by The Vet Doctors right now. I have spoke to wade on many occasions and he couldn't get more helpful. He has always been available and eager to help. I would recommend them in a heartbeat. Just my opinion!

I Take it you are an N/A Guy. If not, why not drive a few miles on over to 21STCENTURYMUSCLECAR, especially since you are looking for 500 rwhp? Either way, I think ARE and LPE Packages are the best ones out there for the vette - JMO.

Making 500 should not be a problem. We are just over with a 418 and still haven't completely tuned it! It's all in the heads. ARE does a great job making power!

I seriously considered a supercharger or turbo at first. But its an issue of money. I want to hit 600 - 700 rwhp and have a reliable engine that wont self destruct. To hit that horsepower level with a turbo you have to upgrade to Forged bottom end.You can only run 5-7 psi on stock bottom end. That plus a turbo kit is getting over 20k. This nitrous 422 setup is only going to cost me around 15k and it will hopefully be bullet proof cause it will only get nitrous on the track. Plus their might be a chance that I'll slap a a supercharger on later and hopefully run single digits.

Speed is money how fast do you want to go. :reddevil
