Default Random Technologies Cat+X-Pipe Dyno Results..

Well after finally getting my car back from the body shop - I was able to get some dyno time in today and the results were not too exciting..

I really wised I could have preserved the exact same setup as before the addition of the Random Cats and X-Pipe - but due to the accident my Vararam was damaged - thus I had to go back to my stock intake with a K&N air filter.. :(

On the first dyno pull my power was a bit low as I was running way rich from the more restrictive intake I assume, thus we got the LS1Edit out and leaned it out a bit to where it should be (12.5) and I ended up with approximately the SAME PEAK RWHP (within 2-3HP) as before with the Vararam and hollow cats and stock H-Pipe (420ish). :skep:

The is some good news though - as between 2500-4500 RPMs I gained up to 14RWTQ  and in total 8 RWTQ at peak. So the theory holds true that a good x-pipe can/will add tq to your bottom line.. :yesnod:

I now have to decide if I want to add another aftermarket intake into the equation to see if a new Vararam or Blackwing will yield any more HP - but I doubt it..

I know you want to see the dyno sheets, but I forgot to grab them when I left the shop - sorry.. :p: Maybe I can swing by there later this week to pick them up if you guys would really like to see them..

Have a good one,

BP

hmm, sounds to me you did well. Same peak numbers, but more mid range tq, all while killing the gas smell and lowering emissions. And with an obviously more restrictive intake setup.

mission accomplished, I'd say

Why would another intake not yield more HP  You probably have another 10 peak HP to go  Beautiful car by the way

Well - when I added the Vararam last time I didnt see any gains on the dyno.. hence I am doubtful that it would this time either - but I could easily be wrong..

:D

Try a Vortex this time.
It worked for me ,no Dyno Numbers but it runs better.
Much better

No experience, but I would guess that a Blackwing would gain more on a Dyno and the other more in real world driving since you would have more air hitting the front of the car.

I'll take power under the curve any day over peak power!

I hollowed out my cats too. I hate the smell and think I lost torque!

So you have the Random Xpipe/Cat combo. I want that bad... I want to make the swap just a bolton operation.
