I am in the middle of changing out both output shafts on my c5z diff. I broke the common LH. I bought c6z LH and RH to do both. I am in the middle of installing the RH output shaft. The original design from the c5z is a 1 piece and the c6z is a 2 piece with a snap ring. When installing the RH I noticed the c6z sticks out further causing issues with getting the spider gear shaft back in because it contacting the end of the shaft
am I doing something wrong? What am I missing.
thanks

Reason: Help
Is your resolution worth sharing with the rest of us? For "posterity", perhaps.
There is a U shape tool that compresses the clutch spring under the side gear. You will need that tool to compress the spring in order to install the cross pin. The updated part adds more pressure compared to the original.
