While all the tires listed are excellent choices, my experience lead me to select the Firestones. My reasons are: 1. Tire Rack offered them at a good price
2. They were the tire of choice on the Forum at the time
3. The wear rating exceeded most competitors
4. they provide a quiet and comfortable ride with good performance characteristics.
5. I've had them over a year and I'm still happy
Now, how good is that

Love my Firestones! World of difference from the Goodyears. Smoother, quieter ride - I thought I had a new suspension put on. Plus, Tire Rack was significantly cheaper than retail.

You pay a little more for the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S ZP's but get a much better tire. With a tread wear rating of 400 and a 2 year replacement (pro-rated out to 6 years) warranty. I don't believe ANY vette tire (run-flat or not) can match that.
I really like my Firestone's but will probably look at some others when the time comes just for comparison. That Michelin 400 treadwear rating is pretty interesting but I wonder what the traction is like to get such a high treadwear rating. My FS's are wearing really well right now though.
not to hijack this thread but, does anyone know if anybody is going to make runflats in bigger sizes so that you can buy aftermarket wheels and still use runflats
Re: Tires? goodyear vs firestone vs ? (omattitude)
i decided to go with michelin as/zp
i took advice from friends and guys on this forum, including tom who i see also replied to you.
i've only put about 500 miles on them so far. they are MUCH quieter. car feels better. more connected to the ground without that notorious and abrasice hopping you get with the goodyears.

Replaced P--- Poor G.Y's with Michelin's Pilot Sport A/S Z/P 11,000 miles ago. When I get the next Vette, the first stop is to Discount Tire to replace the JUNK with Michelin's. The second stop is to change the P--- Poor Delco Battery to a Optima Red Top. Now you have what G.M. should have done in the first place ! That's my 2 CTS.  :chevy

:iagree: Of all the current RFT's, the Firestone is the absolute best tire for the buck available. A couple of the others are also excellent too, but like I said, for the money spent.... Firestone's got it.
after doing a lot of searching about tires i dicided to go with nitto 555 best "bang for the buck" $644 shipped, i really wanted to try a non-runflat...should be a very interesting change

I'll agree that Nitto's do have some good pricing, it's just that Omattitude wanted to stay with RFT's only.

I didn't find TireRack all that cheap. Went to my local Firestone store and they came within a $100 of TireRack. Since my Firestone store is just down the street and TireRack is in "e-land" I spent the $100.
Just the same, I agree that Firehawks beat the Goodyear runflat by a lot!
