ECU Flash Prom reprogrammers - worthwhile or hype?
Has anyone quantified any RWHP gains using a Predator or Superchips Micro Tuner on a mildly (bolt-on) modified 6 spd C5?
I remember the Hypertech PP being less then impressive on the LT1. I noticed that Sam and Dave on TNN's Crank and Crome reported a 10 hp gain after installing a Superchips' program on a 2000 automatic however, the car started out on the weak side with about 260 RWHP.
I am interested in maximizing power without venturing into the emmissions test/inspection failure land that comes with long tube headers or heads and cam. I spent a small fortune trying to tune my last car which was heavily modified so I know that cars in that category pretty much have to be tuned on a dyno.
I'd appreciate any insight or thoughts anyone might have.
