I have a 2000 c5 and am trying to remove my Ecbm. Mine is equipped with 4 screws connecting the 2 parts together not the 6 as noted. My problem is I have removed the 4 screws and the 3 nuts holding it in the bracket. I’ve separated the top but can’t get the bottom to loosen and come apart. I’m not looking to force it so any help will be much appreciated
I'm not too sure what it could be as I have 2003, but if there is some interest in a rebuilt unit, I can only offer that when my had to be replaced I had a real PITA time of it as I bought one from Automotive Scientific in Tenn. and that cost me $2000 because it should the same DTC of having a worn out right front wheel hub assembly, which really took me on the wonderful scenic route of dealerships and shops, but in many ways it was very lucky as I found a shop about 100 miles from here that did in fact find the problem and it was the EBCM you see below, The shop in question is Walt's Automotive Electrical in Stroudsburg PA and he even wrote a letter of the diagnostic finding and I sent it to Automotive Scientific, This is a shop worth going to virtually from anywhere or shipping the problem Corvette to. And after a little pushing the refunded my $1700.00 dollars. so I strongly advise to stay away from Automotive Scientific, As you can see the Rebuilt one they sent me wasn't such a good deal at $1750.00 and it is sealed as well. But as is often in nature of things, one door closes, anther opens. one good thing to happen out of this is I bought one from Mercer Corvette in Indiana who at the time 2 years ago, say they didn't work on the 97 to 2000 Bosch units they they were making plans to service the bosch units, but they were plumbing the prospect of doing them. And the 2001 to 04 EBCM came with a lifetime warranty. But it's worth a call to see what the landscape it like.
