Hello! First post here I am hoping someone can assist me with my BC racing coilovers. The car I purchased was SLAMMED to the ground on some BC Racing coilovers. I'm trying to determine if there is a "default" or basically how did they ship from the factory. The rear tires hit the fenders any time I hit a bump at speed. Hoping I can adjust them while they are still on the car.
Yeah I've got some spanner wrenches, and i understand how to make the car go up and down, but I think the spring rate has been reduced in the rear so the tires are rubbing the fenders on any bumps. Just wondering if there is a way to figure out what height they came with from the factory. I guess I could call BC racing and ask them!.
raise them or mess with the damping. my past experience with coilovers its not really a set height from who ever you buy them from. they probably would be half way on the threaded body is my guess, then you would fine tune them. its the many joys of owning a lowered car on coilovers the stiffer they are the worse the ride will be, but you wont rub on fenders. i'd pop the tires off and just raise them a couple turns, make sure you measure so that there even. hell, ive only lowered mine maybe an inch on factory bolts and i scrape. you need to angle these cars. have fun, id highly suggest after you get them to your liking, get corner balanced!
Yeah i've been messing with them quite a bit. The car is also tubbed and has a 345 tire outback i'm not sure if i'll ever get away from the rubbing with this setup.
Thanks for the video though, I had the locking collar on the wrong side ( top ) instead of bottom like this video.
