Hi guys,
When I turn the steering wheel, it sometimes makes a cracking sound and it keeps squeaking.
I thought the whole time that it was coming from the steering wheel itself, but I found out that it’s actually coming from the area between the engine bay and the cabin.
I’m attaching a picture of what I think it is.
Could you please tell me exactly what part this is and how it can be repaired? Or is it possible to buy a completely new one?

Was there any recent performance work done on the car where they had to move or re-install the steering rack or steering shaft? Sometimes the groan or squeak is a result of the the steering rack being reinstalled and usually a blast of lubricant way up underneath the steering column near the firewall and through the front engine bay is enough to remedy the situation.
