Hi all, just recently bought a c5. Ive got the interior torn apart to do some fixes on the HUD and replace a few worn interior pieces. While im in there ive been trying to track down this rattle thats been driving me crazy. Its on the driver's side near the base of the windsheild, almost sounds like it is coming from behind the HUD but ive checked and nothing so far. Anyone have a similar issue or suggestions? Thanks!
I had a similar issue. I had the whole interior and dash apart for a sound / heat insulation project.
The rattle in my case came from a loose harness bracket that is bolted to the back of the passenger side cylinder head.
The diagram below is to help illustrate harness attachment points.

Check your under hood stopper, right up near the windshield? Loosen the lock nut, raise the bumper 1/4 turn and see if it's that. That was my problem, a low pitch tapping, almost a clunk, sound.
